Zhytomyr 1128
Zhytomyr (Russian: Жито́мир, pronounced [жито́мыр]) is one of the oldest cities of Kievan Rus and serves as a regional center. Situated in northern Ukraine, it is surrounded by unique natural landscapes, with ancient forests encircling the city and the Teteriv and Kamyanka rivers flowing through it. According to legend, the city was named after Zhytomyr, a retainer of the Kyiv princes Askold and Dir. He refused to serve their enemies and hid in the forests at the confluence of the Kamyanka and Teteriv rivers, where modern Zhytomyr is now located. Historically, the city was the center of the Zhytichi settlement. Another theory suggests that the locals have long been engaged in grain trade and lived peacefully, with evidence showing that even in the city center, they cultivated "rye" (Russian: рожь) and barley. The city was known for "Grain and peace."

In the year 2012, the city celebrated its 1128th anniversary. In the current year, 2013, it will be one year older. As usual, the number on the monument indicating the city's age will be updated, and volunteer students will work to ensure the monument looks aesthetically pleasing. Producing and installing the numbers to display the city's age is quite costly, so the municipal authorities have asked you to calculate the financial expenses for this year's update, when the city turns A+1 years old. The cost of producing one digit is B hryvnias. You can assume that the students are diligent and work voluntarily without pay.
